PEMA was established in late 2004 by a group of leading equipment manufacturers serving the global port and terminal markets. The goal was to create a neutral platform that could publicly represent the industry as a whole, as well as fostering knowledge and relations within the global port equipment community.

Today, PEMA’s members represent a broad cross-section of companies active in the design and supply of equipment, systems and technology to support the growing demands of modern port and terminal operations.

Since 1993, FEPORT has represented the interests of a large variety of terminal operators and stevedoring companies performing operations and carrying out activities over 425 terminals in the seaports of the European Union. FEPORT speaks on behalf of more than 1225 companies.

Their aim is to promote the interests of our members, i.e. national associations and global multinational companies, and to maintain constant dialogue with all EU institutional and non-institutional stakeholders.

The Terminal Industry Committee 4.0 (TIC 4.0) initiative aims to bring together representative companies from both the Terminal Operators industry and Port Equipment Manufacturers and Suppliers to collectively work on the elaboration of port industry operations and technological standards. The TIC 4.0 initiative has been endorsed by the Federation of European Private Port Companies and Terminals (FEPORT) and of the Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA).

Founded in 1955, IAPH is a global alliance of ports, representing today some 180 ports and 140 port-related organizations/companies in about 90 countries. The member ports together handle well over 60% of the world's sea-borne trade and nearly 70% of the world container traffic. It is a non-profit-making and non-governmental organization (NGO) headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

ICHCA International provides a focal point for informing, educating, networking, shaping, and sharing industry views to help improve cargo handling throughout international supply chains.

The International Port Community Systems Association (IPCSA) – a new name for the European Port Community Systems Association (ECPSA) which was launched in June 2011 by six founding members, all European - based Port Community System operators.

IPCSA was formed on 1st September 2014 IPCSA and its members play a vital role in global trade facilitation; the electronic communications platforms provided by Port Community Systems ensure smooth transport and logistics operations at hundreds of sea ports, airports and inland ports.

IPCSA members currently operate in 18 Countries, both within Europe and Internationally and operate in ports which handle in excess of 90m TEUs and 2.5bn Tonnes of cargo.
