EXHIBITOR Spotlight: AVLINO

Please tell us a little about your company and what you will be showcasing at TOC Europe 2024

Avlino is a US-based company specializing in Artificial Intelligence solutions to enhance the efficiency of container terminal operations. Our goal is to help terminal operators overcome common pain points and challenges that undercut their business objectives.

At TOC we will be showcasing AICON, a Solutions Suite designed to dynamically solve the challenges of operational volatility. Combining AI/ML and Operations Research, AICON delivers actionable insights, real-time work instructions and autonomous workflows significantly reducing inefficient processes, increasing throughput, optimizing resource allocation and improving customer service.

Who are you hoping to meet?

We are looking to connect with decision-makers from container terminals who are seeking innovative solutions to become the preferred port for their customers. Specifically, we aim to engage with industry leaders who prioritize innovation to address the evolving needs of their operations while aligning with their business objectives.

Why is the European market so important to you?

The European market is vital due to its significant volume and pivotal role in the global supply chain. Additionally, Europe is known for its innovative approach to technology implementation. The region also faces pressing sustainability challenges, particularly with its ambitious decarbonization goals. At Avlino, we believe we can contribute meaningfully to this mission.

What are your plans, goals and ambitions for the rest of 2024 and beyond?

In the second half of the year, our business development goals include further expanding our presence in the European, North American, and Latin American markets. On the product front, we are focused on advancing our roadmap while onboarding new customers and preparing new features to enhance our solution suite. By 2025, we aim to continue our expansion into other strategically important regions, grow our product team, and introduce new solutions that address the industry's evolving trends and concerns.

Could you provide an overview of your company’s current sustainability initiatives related to ports and terminals?

At Avlino, we are dedicated to helping our customers achieve their sustainability goals and reduce their carbon footprint. Recognizing that all movements have a greenhouse gas emission cost, our solutions aim to minimize non-productive movements, thereby directly impacting emissions. But we are impacting emissions not only by reducing non-productive movements but also by decreasing truck turnaround time, balancing equipment usage, and planning the berth in a way that allows terminal customers to save fuel.

We acknowledge that many terminals currently do not collect emissions data, which presents a challenge. However, we are committed to helping terminals understand the importance of this data and overcoming the necessary obstacles to implement these sustainability measures.

Why do you consider it important to be at TOC Europe?

TOC Europe is one of the largest and most significant events in the industry, attracting industry insiders from around the globe. It provides access to a diverse audience and numerous opportunities to establish productive partnerships. For Avlino, TOC Europe is the ideal place to stay informed about the latest news, technological advancements, new equipment, and updates on policies and regulations. It also offers valuable insights into emerging industry trends.

What message do you have for the TOC community who will be in Rotterdam?

We warmly invite everyone to visit us at stand L34 and take the opportunity to meet and speak with our team of experts. We are ready to provide detailed insights into our solutions, explain how they can support your business goals, and share the impressive results achieved through our various implementations.

We would also like to share that at Avlino, we embrace an innovative approach where creative thinking meets the drive to make a positive impact. This philosophy is essential in developing AI solutions that transform container terminal operations. We believe that dynamically responsive AI-based operating systems will soon replace traditional workflow-based resource planning. These new systems will learn from past data, adapt in real-time to changing conditions, and, most importantly, enhance human decision-making with intelligent machine learning.
